Fighting Pathogens
We are told to wear masks and get vaccinated against COVID-19. But it seems to me that we have forgotten the basic foundations of protecting ourselves against pathogens and other invaders. We are simply relying on governments to protect us, and that’s backward, dangerous, troublesome, and self-destructiveness. First, our immune system is extremely complex. They are networks of cells, tissues, and organs working together to help our bodies fight a variety of infections. It has taken nature a very long time to provide us with those benefits. Our immune system defends us against all sorts of pathogens that it finds harmful. When our immune system recognizes those invaders, it attacks and does everything it can to properly remedy the situation. But our first line of defense is always a healthy lifestyle.
Of the many things we can do to support a healthy immune system is to consume lots of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, nutrients, antioxidants etc., which gives us natural protection against harmful pathogens. Also, that simple routine of regular exercise will improve cardiovascular health, control body weight, and aid our immune system in the fight against a variety of diseases. Nothing is wrong with wearing masks and taking necessary precaution, but relying on a Band-Aid to fight against pathogens that have had billions of years to learn and adapt simply does not make much sense.

ReplyDeleteOvereating, processed food, over sanitizing, and cheap dopamine fixes are ruining health these days, this is the real pandemic. If these were addressed - like you said, there would have been no need for masks, and autoimmune conditions would cease to exist. Enjoyed reading your take on this and agree with everything you said!
ReplyDeleteI still remember what we talked abt healthy lifestyle in Chiangmai. I began to choose organic food when i arrived in usa. My body feels lighter when i reduce intake of sugar, heavy salt and deep processed food.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting read. Agreed we should exercise and eat properly to build up immunity against invaders in the body. Instead of reacting to covid invaders Dr's should tell us how to be proactive.
