Are we becoming Borg?

In the Star Trek enterprise, the Borg is an alien group that slowly assimilates all other species into its collective. The Borg turns out to be cybernetic organisms known as the Hive. To assimilate other aliens species they inject them with nano-probes—surgically augmenting them with cybernetic components. Each Borg is linked to the “Collective” by a sophisticated network that ensures each member is under constant supervision and guidance. The collective consciousness gives them the ability not only to "share the same thoughts" but also to adapt quickly to new strategies and procedures. An individual Borg is humanlike, "flawed and weak" but gradually develop into synthetic species in an attempt to evolve and perfect themselves. The Borg might not call their assimilation mandates but it's definitely control.

Being human is complicated and extremely messy. That complexity makes us incredibly extraordinary. The ability to be random, unpredictable and at times chaotic. That reality is the human condition, the conundrum we need to fully embrace. We are not created to be followers. We cooperate, collaborate but we never assimilate. If we ain't careful, we can slowly become Borg.
