Morning Pages and Artist Date
Morning Pages are 3 pages of stream-of-consciousness writing everyday. Artist Way is a time for reflection by doing something special everyday.
Week 1
Do not fear mistakes; there are none Miles Davis
- If you had five (5) other lives to lead, what would they be?
- What do you value above all else? Make a list of the five things for which you are most grateful.
Week 2
Make your recovery the first priority in your life. Robin Norwood
- List your five (5) major activities
- How often are you doing them?
- List five (5) other things you’d like to do for yourself
- Choose one and make it happen this week
Week 3
A painting is never finished; it simply stops in interesting places. Paul Gardner
- List five (5) positive habits
- Are they helping to improve your life?
Week 4
You are lost the instant you know what the result will be. Juan Gris
- Open your closet; throw out one useless outfit
- Look at one situation in your life that you should change
Week 5
First, be who you are, then, do what you need to do, in order to have what you want. Margaret Young
- List five (5) people you admire
- What traits do they have that you admire?
Week 6

- Send postcards to five friends
- Practice saying ‘Yes’ to freebies
- Describe two (2) significant issues you explored this week?
Week 7
You will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm. Colette
- Give yourself 30 minutes to listen to music
- Draw the shapes, emotions, and thoughts you hear
- Take yourself into a sacred space: church, library, park, etc
Week 8

- List five things you are not allowed to do. Do that thing on paper. Write it, draw it, paint it, act it out.

Week 9
Creative work is play.

Week 10
Faith requires that we relinquish control.
- Make a quick list of things you love
- What habit do you have that gets in the way of your creativity?
- Make three nice promises to yourself and complete them in 3 week
Week 11
Desire, ask, believe, receive. Stella Mann
- Buy a notebook. Number pages 1-7 with these categories: health, leisure, relationships, creativity, career, love, and spirituality. With little practicality, list five wishes in each area
- List five (5) ways you plan to nurture yourself next year
Week 12
Adventures don’t begin until you get into the forest. Mickey Hart
- What would you most like to create?
- What oddball paths would you dare try?
- What appearances are you willing to shed to pursue your dream?
