Trying to connect

You think it’s clear

But language blunders

 

Our sophistication 

Relying on expressions

To convey our complexities

 

Frustrated by people’s reactions 

To correct what I’ve said

Not fully grasping my meaning

 

The language to connect 

To decipher a chaotic existence

Language’s a tool for fools

 

The need for adequate art

To convey ridiculous experience

To get a clearer picture

 

Language to convey feelings

Through listening and speaking

What a hassle 

 

The ego competes for space

Hinders harmony

How to remove ourselves 


So clarity flows

Can flow

    So true! The ego always filters what it hears, filtering the sounds, the cadence and the implied meaning, so that what is said and what is heard seem to come from completely different universes

    I think most people don’t understand the power to say nothing. Your words are like cash, some squander it, other conserve it, perhaps there’s a time and place for both. I think most people don’t understand the choice to say very little as the ego tries to prove something.

It’s the “melody,” stupid!

I've often found myself in conversations with people who seemed disengaged. While they hear my words, they often miss the underlying melodies that convey my full message. This disconnect can be frustrating, especially after sharing something personal, only to realize they’ve completely missed the point. Many focus solely on the words, overlooking the tones and melodies that carry the essence of what I’m trying to communicate. I frequently feel disappointed after expressing my thoughts and emotions, realizing that my message doesn’t always resonate. I don’t believe it’s solely the listener’s fault; perhaps I need to find a more concise way to share my stories. Maybe my words come across as dissonant and my prose too lengthy, causing people to tune out for good reason. I recognize that this can sometimes stem from my own style of speaking. Empty Money

Yesterday, I had breakfast at Organic Fresh. I ordered a smoothie bowl and a hot Thai tea. To my disappointment, the smoothie bowl was overly sweet and contained hardly any granola, making it nearly inedible. At approximately 300 baht, it left me feeling both cheated and unsatisfied, prompting me to seek a proper breakfast elsewhere. Serves me right for trying to indulge in Western “food” in Thailand! If I had been as wise as the Thais, I’d have opted for a breakfast of Pad Thai or noodles, at around 50 baht.   As I left Organic Fresh, I realized that I had consumed only 5% of my meal, indicating that 95% of my breakfast was wasted; both in terms of food and money. This experience led me to coin the term "empty money," reflecting my frustration over spending my hard-earned money on something that ultimately left me dissatisfied.
